What Ailments Qualify For Medical Cannabis in Connecticut?
The CBD Curators can refer qualified patients to local medical marijuana doctors. Patients must document a qualified ailment.
Patients in Connecticut diagnosed with one of the following severe, debilitating, or life-threatening medical conditions, are afforded legal protection under the Connecticut Medical Marijuana law, as per House Bill 5389.
- Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)
- Cachexia
- Cancer
- Cerebral Palsy
- Complex Regional Pain Syndrome
- Crohn’s Disease
- Chronic Neuropathic Pain (Associated With Degenerative Spinal Disorders)
- Cystic Fibrosis
- Damage to the Nervous Tissue of the Spinal Cord with Objective Neurological Indication of Intractable Spasticity
- Epilepsy
- Glaucoma
- Hydrocephalus with Intractable Headache
- Intractable Headache Syndromes
- Irreversible Spinal Cord Injury with Objective Neurological Indication of Intractable Spasticity
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Muscular Dystrophy
- Neuropathic Facial Pain
- Osteogenesis Imperfecta
- Parkinson’s Disease
- Positive Status for Human Immunodeficiency Virus or Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome
- Post Herpetic Neuralgia
- Post Laminectomy Syndrome with Chronic Radiculopathy
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
- Severe Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis
- Severe Rheumatoid Arthritis
- Sickle Cell Disease
- Spasticity or Neuropathic Pain Associated with Fibromyalgia
- Terminal Illness Requiring End-Of-Life Care
- Ulcerative Colitis
- Uncontrolled Intractable Seizure Disorder

For patients under the age of 18 years, the following conditions will effectively qualify:
- Cerebral Palsy
- Cystic Fibrosis
- Irreversible Spinal Cord Injury with Objective Neurological Indication of Intractable Spasticity
- Muscular Dystrophy
- Osteogenesis Imperfecta
- Severe Epilepsy
- Terminal Illness Requiring End-of-Life Care
- Uncontrolled Intractable Seizure Disorder
Connecticut Medical Marijuana Program: Information
To Qualify for Connecticut’s Medical Marijuana Program:
- Patients must be 18 years of age. If under 18, Approved Caregiver must accompany and assist you throughout the process.
- Patients must be certified by their physician with a Qualifying Condition. (Must be certified before starting the registration process)
- Patients must create an account to access the online certification system.
- Submit application including your Authorized Caregiver (if applicable), Proof of Identity, Proof of Residency, Photo & $100.00 Application Fee (Caregiver Application is an addition $25.00). Department does not accept Cash Payment.
